Social justice? Money? Power? Equality? Fairness? Peace? Climate change? All of these are important matters from an earthly perspective, but they are meaningless compared to knowing Almighty God. He is your Creator. It is your great privilege to know Him, but do you know Him? Does God mean more to you or less to you than that list of issues above?
Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.” – Jeremiah 9:23-24 (ESV)
What matters most to you is often the same thing that you worship (at least in your heart if not outwardly). So, what matters to you? What do you worship?
